Job summary

Caleres, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Orlando, FL to lead the team in the Store Manager's absence, drive sales, and deliver a best-in-class customer experience. You will coach staff, oversee operations, and model our famous culture across the store floor.

You will develop talent, manage daily tasks, and maintain strong store presentation while staying current on product trends to educate the team and customers alike.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 1 year of retail sales experience.
• Experience interviewing, hiring, and training people.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and communicate positively with store Associates at all levels.
• Train, coach and develop Associates for customer experience and execute operational tasks.
• Exercises independent judgment partnering with Store Sales Manager, as needed.
• Strong problem solving, decision making, and financial and quantitative analysis.
• Advanced working knowledge of general retail practices and procedures.
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights, weekends, and extended hours.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead store team in the absence of the Store Manager to ensure sales targets are met.
• Manage pricing, shipping processing and inventory with daily operations.
• Support staffing levels set by the Store Manager considering availability and peak days.
• Drive location performance by applying insights to improve results.
• Be a culture builder promoting diversity, inclusion, and engagement.
• Develop internal talent in partnership with the Store Manager.
