Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures, cashier accountability and deposits.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; counsels as needed.
• Reviews pay rate recommendations and advancement opportunities.
• Maintains safety, security and policy adherence; coordinates staff meetings.
• Opens/closes the store as scheduled and ensures proper staffing for shifts.
• Monitors sales, profitability, shrink, and inventory accuracy; manages ordering plans.
