Qualifications

• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to perform cash register functions to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure staffing.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; counsels or terminates as needed.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates expectations; coordinates meetings to promote safety and policy adherence.
• Ensures proper staffing and opens/closes store at least twice weekly.
• Evaluates operating statements to spot sales trends, profitability, shrink, and errors.
• Oversees ordering to meet in-stock targets; reviews weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Oversees merchandising staging, stocking and storage per company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing and signage per standards.
• Maintains inventory by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Maintains cash handling accuracy and security procedures.
• Provides strong customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, organized and safe.
• Ensures store has tools needed to perform tasks.
• Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Completes required paperwork on time.
