Job summary

Meijer in Ohio seeks an experienced store leader to supervise day-to-day operations, mentor staff, and drive exceptional customer service and sales. You will oversee staffing, training, and performance, ensuring adherence to Meijer standards and a safe, efficient store environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members in the organization in a way that provides clear and precise direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and by addressing root cause issues.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions. Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members in all areas of the organization including SDITs, team members in hourly positions and team leaders.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and supervise team members in daily store operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members and ensure service is quick and efficient.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and store sales.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs and maintain performance.
• Promote succession planning and identify development needs for team members; participate in promotion decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions and advise on discharges as needed.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Model exceptional, fast and friendly customer service and communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative.
• Ensure team training is completed and adherence to Meijer standards.
• Spend majority of time in-store interacting with customers and team members to ensure exceptional service.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
