Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a dedicated Store Manager to lead all store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee staffing, training, performance evaluations and daily execution of merchandising, pricing, and customer service standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring staffing levels, controlling costs, and maintaining accurate inventory while upholding safety and company policies. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, follow safety rules, and operate store equipment.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and cashier accountability.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training; conduct performance evaluations; address gaps with coaching or termination if needed.
• Make recommendations on employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store as scheduled; maintain security and daily operations.
• Evaluate financial statements to identify trends, profitability and stock issues; manage expenses and shrink.
• Ensure in-stock targets are met through ordering and inventory management; review weekly planning.
• Stage, stock and store merchandise following defined processes and signage standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory; manage damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Maintain cashier accountability and strict cash controls; uphold security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe shopping environment.
