Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead store operations, staffing, and customer service. You will oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, and presentation, as well as training and evaluating employees to ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.

You will manage daily cash handling, inventory control, and performance metrics, while driving sales and maintaining a clean, secure, and well-organized environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret store procedures and safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math for tilts, pricing, and inventory.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience with POS systems and generating reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Make compensation and advancement recommendations.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; lead meetings to ensure policy adherence.
• Open/close store as required and manage daily operations.
• Analyze operating statements for sales, profits, and efficiency; control expenses.
