PetSmart is seeking a Retail Store Manager in East Peoria, IL to lead store operations, ensure top-tier pet parent service, and drive safety and profitability. You will oversee staffing, coaching, scheduling, and HR activities while aligning with company policies and performance targets.

The role requires 4–6 years of retail leadership, ability to work a flexible schedule, and strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of retail leadership or customer-focused experience.
• Full-time availability with evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency in computer applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Oversee staffing, recruiting, coaching, and HR decisions for the store.
• Foster an open-door culture and respond to associate feedback.
• Ensure accurate staff scheduling and coverage.
• Support development, performance reviews, recognition, and mentoring.
• Delegate responsibilities and empower team to meet goals.
• Adapt priorities to changing business needs and communicate them.
• Ensure policy compliance and ethical standards across the store.
• Conduct regular Core and Services Walks to verify standards.
• Maintain a safe environment for associates, pets, and customers.
• Oversee inventory management and in-stock levels.
• Review store CCTV to monitor safety and coaching needs.
• Act on sick/injured pets and coordinate vet transport when needed.
• Collaborate on opening/closing duties to uphold brand promises.
