Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Leader to oversee all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, inventory, merchandising, and customer service. You will manage daily opening/closing, enforce policies, and drive sales while upholding safety and compliance standards.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a focus on staffing, cash handling, and store performance. This is a full-time, on-site position at a Dollar General location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; strong math skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps and counsel as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for sales, profitability, turns, and expenses; identify improvements.
• Review ordering plans and cycle counts to maintain in-stock targets.
• Ensure merchandise is presented with proper fixtures, pricing and signage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and cash controls; ensure financial integrity.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Maintain a clean, safe store environment and ensure required tools are available.
• Follow SOPs and deadlines for paperwork.
