Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and performance management. You will lead execution of merchandising, inventory control, and safety policies while delivering strong customer service in a fast-paced environment.

You will recruit, hire, train and coach team members, ensure proper cash handling and security, and drive sales and profitability through effective planning, scheduling and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state labor laws and company policies.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing and hiring procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage all employees in planning and implementing store processes (ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing).
• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; counsel or terminate as needed.
• Advise on pay rate and advancement decisions.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
