Job summary

Kohl's is seeking a Store Manager to provide oversight and leadership for the entire store team, driving customer experience, associate engagement, and operational excellence to meet sales and profitability goals.

You will coach and develop associates, recruit and hire, manage payroll, oversee training, and ensure compliance with policies. Lead inventory control, loss prevention, and merchandising to deliver a compelling in-store experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Experience supervising 20+ associates and making employment decisions.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong people management skills and talent development.
• Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Guide profitable sales and achieve store financial plans through leadership of the store team.
• Manage payroll planning and scheduling based on store traffic and business conditions.
• Recruiting and making hiring, pay, and termination decisions for store personnel.
• Oversee associate relations, performance management, and policy adherence.
• Lead training for new hires on Kohl’s culture, product knowledge, selling practices, and responsibilities.
• Coach and develop the store team, create succession plans, and monitor KPI-driven results.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through shipping/receiving processes and pricing/signage compliance.
• Prevent loss and educate associates on policies, with Loss Prevention partnership.
• Ensure merchandising standards and presentation align with direction and store layout needs.
• Manage floor replenishment and ensure optimal product levels for customers.
• Foster exceptional customer service and a compelling store experience, including POS speed and service.
