Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, supervise staff, and ensure excellent customer service. Responsibilities include stocking, cashiering, scheduling, and maintaining inventory with emphasis on profitability and loss prevention.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and adherence to company policies. Training will cover safety, merchandising, and financial practices in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Customer service leadership and strong communication skills.
• Ability to supervise store staff and manage daily operations.
• Familiarity with cash handling and loss prevention practices.
• Experience with merchandising and display setup.
• Proficiency in basic math and report generation.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership and operate POS.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise receiving, stocking, and displays per planograms.
• Help maintain inventory accuracy and shrink control.
• Ensure cash controls and deposits are handled properly.
• Assist in store management in the Store Manager's absence.
