Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a proactive Store Manager to lead all store operations, including ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, selling, staffing and support. You will recruit, train, and evaluate staff, ensure policy compliance and safety, and drive customer service excellence.

You will oversee daily opening and closing procedures, manage inventory, and monitor sales performance to maximize profitability in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations; identify gaps for counseling or termination as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rates and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinate meetings and events to ensure safety and policy adherence.
• Ensure store staffing and opening/closing procedures are performed daily.
• Open and close the store at least twice per week.
• Monitor operating statements to identify sales trends, profitability, and shrink; manage expenses and inventory.
