Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced store manager to lead daily operations, staffing, training, and customer service in a busy retail environment. You will oversee ordering, receiving, merchandising and inventory controls while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires hands-on leadership and the ability to drive store performance across metrics. You will recruit and develop staff, conduct evaluations, and implement company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per laws and policies; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, identify gaps and coach or terminate as needed.
• Recommend pay rate adjustments and advancement opportunities.
• Communicate performance, safety, and policy expectations; coordinate meetings.
• Open and close the store as required each day.
• Monitor sales, profitability, inventory, and shrink; manage orders and stock.
• Lead cash accuracy and security; ensure proper cash handling procedures.
• Deliver superior customer service and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure store equipment, tools and fixtures are maintained and policies followed.
