Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Team Member to help maintain a clean, customer-first store environment and to lead in the absence of a Store Team Leader. You will assist customers, operate cash registers, stock shelves, and ensure displays meet guidelines.

The role emphasizes safe procedures, product knowledge, and teamwork to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction. Training and daily responsibilities support a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planogram and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to exceed the customer's expectations.
• Model product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience.
• Maintain a safe, clean and well-organized store environment.
• Assist in merchandising to drive sales and create eye-catching displays.
• Operate cash register and scanner to total purchases and make change.
• Assist customers in self-checkout at multiple registers.
• Open and close the store under direction of the Store Team Leader.
