Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker who can assist in leading the store in the absence of management. The role focuses on customer service, merchandise stocking, and maintaining plan‑o‑grams to maximize profitability and store presentation.

Responsibilities include unloading trucks, processing shipments, operating the cash register, and ensuring a safe, organized shopping environment. Previous supervisory exposure preferred; full-time opportunity in a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling.
• Familiarity with plan-o-grams and merchandise presentation guidance.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of safety policies and cash control procedures.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to the prescribed process for the store.
• Receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock, rotate, and face merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned merchandise and follow stocking routines.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories as directed by the Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers in locating merchandise and provide excellent service.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organize front-end operations.
• Operate cash register and balance cash drawer; bag purchases.
• Open/close store under Area Manager direction.
