Job summary

Dollar General Corporation seeks a Lead Sales Associate in Covington, GA to maintain a clean, customer-first store. You will assist customers, operate the register, stock and rotate merchandise, and support leadership in protecting assets and profitability.

You may act in a lead capacity when the Store Manager is absent, open/close the store, and handle duties as directed by management to ensure excellent service and smooth store operations.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandising guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposits.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register, total purchases, collect payment, make change, and bag merchandise.
• Receive, unpack, stock merchandise; rotate and display on shelves.
• Clean the store, restrooms, stockroom; take out trash; set up displays.
• Assist with planogram implementation.
• Open/close store per Store Manager directions.
• Perform duties of Store Manager in their absence.
