Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. Responsibilities include helping customers locate and purchase merchandise, operating the cash register, stocking and rotating merchandise, cleaning, and supporting store leadership in their absence.

The role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic math abilities, planogram compliance, and knowledge of safety policies.

Qualifications

• Effective interpersonal and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Ability to perform cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit control policies.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total customer's purchase, collect payment and make change.
• Stock merchandise, restock and rotate on shelves; build displays following planograms.
• Clean the store; take out trash; mop floors; clean restrooms and stockrooms; set up sidewalk displays.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager direction.
• Perform duties typically performed by Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their absence.
