Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help lead a fast-paced, customer-first store. You will support the Store Manager with staff supervision, merchandise presentation, and daily cash handling to ensure smooth operations and profitability.

This role requires strong communication, reliability, and the ability to train associates, manage schedules, and uphold company policies. You will also participate in stocking, deposits, and loss prevention while delivering excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year in retail and 6 months supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to handle cash and perform point-of-sale tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; operate cash register and scanner.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees and training; conduct safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise via receiving, stocking, restocking and displays.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and control damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Assist in planogram implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Maintain financial integrity via cashier accountability and deposits.
• Assist with store management in Store Manager's absence.
