Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Cashier/Stocker to support store operations and lead in the absence of management. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, maintain plan-o-grams, greet customers, and handle checkout duties while ensuring a secure and efficient store environment.

Qualified candidates typically have a high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience. Excellent math, cash handling, and communication skills are essential, and a safety-conscious mindset is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of supervisory experience (or related experience/training) preferred.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and cash handling procedures.
• Experience with IBM cash register functions is a plus.
• Strong communication and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks per store process.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock and rotate merchandise; build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation and maintenance.
• Greet customers and assist locating merchandise.
• Operate cash register and total purchases; bag merchandise.
• Collect payment and make change.
• Maintain clean, safe store environment.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
