Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Lead Sales Associate to help maintain a clean, customer-focused store and to lead in the absence of store management. You will greet customers, operate the register, stock and display merchandise, and support planograms to maximize profitability.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and some supervisory experience. This role involves frequent walking, lifting up to 40 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service leadership and interpersonal communication with customers.
• Knowledge of safety policies and practices.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise presentation guides.
• Ability to perform cash register functions and handle cash.
• Knowledge of cashier accountability and deposit procedures.
• Ability to drive own vehicle to the bank to deposit money (where applicable).

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, collect payment, bag merchandise.
• Stock, restock, and rotate merchandise; maintain displays per planograms.
• Keep the store clean and organized; manage trash, floors, restrooms, and stockrooms.
• Open and close the store under direction of Store Manager; assist in other managerial duties in their absence.
