Job summary

Dollar General Corporation in Lafayette, LA seeks a Lead Sales Associate to maintain a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist customers in locating and purchasing merchandise, operate a cash register, stock and recover merchandise, and support the Store Manager to maximize store profitability and customer satisfaction while protecting company assets.

The role combines duties of a Sales Associate with leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Store

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow planograms and merchandise guides.
• Ability to perform basic math and cash register functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers.
• Operate cash register and scanner; total purchases and make change.
• Stock merchandise; build displays; rotate and restock as needed.
• Clean the store; take out trash; tidy restrooms and stockroom.
• Assist in implementation and maintenance of planograms.
• Open and close the store under Store Manager guidance.
• Perform duties in absence of Store/Asst. Store Manager.
