Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a capable Cashier/Stocker to support store operations, provide customer service, and step into leadership when the Store Manager is absent. You will unload trucks, stock shelves, maintain displays, manage cashier tasks, and help keep the store clean and organized while upholding company standards.

Expect to assist customers, operate the register, and help with plan-o-gram execution as part of a fast-paced team.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform mathematical calculations including percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Understanding of plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance.

Responsibilities

• Unload trucks according to store procedures.
• Receive, open and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise and rotate facing on shelves.
• Restock returned merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipments as directed by Store Manager.
• Assist in plan-o-gram implementation.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness including floors, restrooms and stockroom.
• Greet customers entering the store and assist at checkout.
• Operate register and collect payment, bag merchandise, and make change.
• Open/close the store under Area Manager direction.
• Monitor cash levels and assist with cashier accountability and security procedures.
• Complete required paperwork on time.
