Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Glen Carbon/Edwardsville, IL, is opening a brand-new store this Spring 2027 and seeks an engaged Store HR Representative to launch and support HR functions from day one.

You will partner with store leadership and regional HR to staff, onboard, train, and drive engagement across the team. The role involves staffing, retention, talent development and total rewards participation, with travel for training prior to store opening.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and presence.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong planning, organizational and problem solving skills.
• Excellent listening and group presentation abilities.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Schedule flexibility and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist staffing, interview and selection for store leadership and non-leadership roles; manage applicant tracking and applications.
• Oversee onboarding and training to drive engagement and retention.
• Champion engagement through HR initiatives and programs.
• Ensure effective communication to all team members and follow-up with leadership.
• Support talent management, development, talent acquisition, and total rewards processes.
• Provide guidance on career development resources and track individual development plans.
• Consult with leadership on employee relations, dispute resolution, and policy adherence.
• Assist with investigations and policy violation resolutions.
• Provide business partner support on policies, compensation, payroll, benefits and disability services.
• Support HR Market Managers with projects as needed.
