Job summary

Safeway in Issaquah, WA seeks a Store Director to oversee all aspects of a retail grocery operation, drive store performance, and manage staff. You will forecast sales, plan labor, and ensure adherence to policies, safety standards, and customer service excellence.

You will lead product placement, promotions, inventory control, and maintain a secure, compliant store environment while building strong team and union relationships where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3 years’ management experience in multi-department retail operation.
• Strong customer service and supervisory skills.
• Understanding of overall store operations and leadership.
• Must have passed Store Director Selection (SDS) process.

Responsibilities

• Overall management responsibility for operation of retail grocery store, including store performance, control of cash, inventory and security, customer services, and management of staff.
• Track, analyze and improve store performance; forecast weekly/daily sales and communicate goals.
• Forecast, schedule, and monitor labor; manage cost control.
• Direct execution of product placement and appearance; ensure in-stock conditions.
• Monitor display accuracy and promotions; ensure proper ordering and cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, safety, sanitation, wage/hour, etc.
• Provide leadership, train and manage store employees; give feedback and development opportunities.
• Maintain relationships with union officials when applicable and with staff, peers, suppliers, and customers.
