Job summary

Martin's Super Markets is seeking a role to lead the day-to-day department operations in a retail store. You will train staff, maintain staffing levels, and ensure department goals and KPIs are met while operating to company standards.

You will manage ordering, inventory, scheduling, and payroll for the department, while upholding Our Winning Recipe and company values. Strong leadership and retail knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with hands-on environment experience.
• Knowledge of retail store operations and retail management systems.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language ability is desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain department inventory and ensure product freshness.
• Review received orders for quality and quantity; ensure proper storage.
• Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and other tasks; ensure quality and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with department products and store-wide items.
• Be aware of advertised items, prices, deals, and rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute weekly and periodic Flight Plans to expectations.
• Implement and manage schedules, labor control, overtime, and payroll for the department.
• Model company values and competencies; develop staff and career growth.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Attend daily huddles and meetings; participate in district/company meetings as required.
• Maintain a clean, well-stocked department and follow Prime Time standards.
• Ensure food safety and general safety guidelines are followed; take corrective action.
• Develop plans to meet company goals and KPIs; take on additional responsibilities as needed.
