Job summary

Austin Habitat for Humanity is seeking a part-time Retail Associate to serve as the first point of contact for customers at the Austin ReStore. You will maintain a well-organized sales floor, assist shoppers, and support the management team with daily operations.

The role requires excellent customer service, cash handling experience, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual Spanish and English preferred; weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cash handling and delivering exceptional customer service.
• Bi-lingual Spanish and English preferred; able to communicate with diverse customers.
• Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Experience with merchandising and displaying products on sales floor.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service to customers.
• Know the ReStore layout and guide customers to merchandise.
• Operate the register and classify items at purchase.
• Follow store procedures for credit cards and cash handling.
• Understand pricing system and handle price changes.
• Restock sales counter merchandise and maintain a presentable store environment.
• Assist in inventory processes and keep paperwork organized.
