Job summary

Save-A-Lot in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Store Associate to support the Store Manager and shift leaders. You will handle cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and ensuring store standards, while delivering excellent customer service.

This role requires 18+, a high school diploma, basic math, and strong communication. You may work across departments, handle basic cash procedures, assist guests, and help maintain safety and sanitation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Comprehensive product knowledge and the ability to train other team members.
• Previous training/supervisory experience a plus.
• Company work history will be strongly considered, including attendance, work performance, safety, policy compliance and performance management.
• Proficiency in basic math skills required, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication, interpersonal skills.
• Language proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
• Must be dependable and flexible.
• Ability to travel to multiple work locations.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Must adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store according to established procedures.
• Direct the day-to-day activities of store team members.
• Communicate with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Resolve customer complaints, including exchanges and refunds.
• Document complaints and take follow-up steps to correct the source of the complaint.
• Conduct front end administrative procedures, including cash handling and till preparation.
• Complete electronic store reports and conduct bag/video checks.
• Perform cashier duties when necessary.
• Escalate employee issues to Store or District Manager.
• Respond promptly to vendors and deliveries.
• Stock within all departments.
• Maintain health and safety compliance.
• Assist in emergency management and evacuation procedures.
• Protect company property, funds and merchandise.
• Follow loss prevention procedures daily.
• Ensure store sanitation and complete sweep logs.
