Job summary

Save-A-Lot is hiring a Store Associate in Orlando to assist customers, stock shelves, and maintain store conditions. You will provide excellent service, handle cashier duties, and help ensure health, safety, and policy compliance throughout shifts.

The role supports store managers and may involve cross-department tasks, with opportunities to participate in hiring-related discussions and vendor communications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong product knowledge and the ability to train other team members.
• Previous training/supervisory experience a plus.
• Proficiency in basic math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Spanish or other languages is a plus.
• Dependable and flexible.
• Ability to travel to multiple work locations.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
• Adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store according to established procedures.
• Direct and monitor day-to-day activities of full-time/part-time store team members.
• Communicate with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Resolve customer complaints, including exchanges and refunds.
• Document complaints and take follow-up steps to correct the source of the complaint.
• Handle cash processes (cash counting, till preparation, cash drops, cash pickups, till verification, gift cards sales/returns).
• Complete electronic store reports and conduct bag/video checks.
• Perform cashier duties when necessary.
• Escalate employee issues to Store Manager or District Manager.
• Respond to vendors (receiving loads/deliveries).
• Stock within all departments.
• Ensure store health & safety compliance.
• Handle emergency management procedures (evacuations).
• Protect company property, funds and merchandise.
• Ensure loss prevention procedures daily.
• Maintain store sanitation and complete sweep logs during shifts.
• Serve as first contact for media/regulatory visitors; refer to Store Manager.
• May participate in panel interviewing but no hiring authority.
• Perform other duties, including cross-department work.
