Job summary

Save-A-Lot is seeking a Store Associate in Yazoo Junction to support the Store Manager and ensure smooth daily operations. The role includes cashiering, stocking, cleaning, and enforcing company policies while delivering excellent customer service.

You will help train teammates, handle customer transactions, resolve complaints, and participate in general store administration. This is a hands-on position focused on teamwork, safety, and reliable performance in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in basic math; able to read, write and speak English.
• Experience training or supervising staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store per established procedures.
• Direct day-to-day activities of full-time/part-time staff.
• Communicate with customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Resolve customer complaints, including exchanges and refunds.
• Document complaints and take follow-up steps to correct the source.
• Conduct front end administrative procedures, including cash handling.
• Complete store reports and conduct bag/video checks.
• Perform cashier duties when necessary.
• Escalate employee issues to Store Manager or District Manager.
• Respond to vendors and manage deliveries.
• Stock within all departments; maintain store cleanliness.
• Ensure health and safety compliance; emergency procedures.
• Assist media/regulatory visitors; refer to Store Manager.
• May participate in panel interviewing; no hiring authority.
• Perform other duties, including cross-department work.
