Job summary

The Bowdoin College Store seeks a friendly Store Associate to join the team in Brunswick, ME. You will handle customer transactions at the point of sale, assist shoppers, keep the store neat and attractive, and help with receiving, stocking, merchandising, and web orders as needed.

This part-time role requires a High School Diploma or GED, excellent communication, and basic computer skills; prior POS experience is preferred.

Compensation

• The rate of pay for this position is $18.50/hr
• This is a casual, part-time, non-benefit eligible position working less than 19 hours/week.
• The schedule during the school year will include Friday (8:30 am-5:00 pm) and Saturday (11:00 am-4:00 pm).

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

• Previous experience in retail operations, especially in a college environment, is very helpful.

Standard Work Days and Hours

This is a non-benefits eligible, part-time position working between 10 and 19 hours a week. Schedules will be based on the needs of the operation. The schedule during the school year will include Friday (8:30 am-5:00 pm) and Saturday (11:00 am-4:00 pm). The store is only open on Saturdays while classes are in session, so the summer schedule will be negotiable. Will be asked to work additional hours during all major College events such as Arrival Day, Homecoming, Family Weekend, Admitted Students Open House, Commencement, and Reunion.
