Family Dollar in Tyler, TX is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help manage store operations, customer service and team development.

You will assist with opening and closing, organize merchandise, supervise store associates, and ensure safety, policy compliance and a positive, high-energy environment for customers and staff.

Experience in retail management is preferred; you will lift up to 55 lbs and work in a fast-paced, metric-driven environment with opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives is required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers with questions or concerns in a positive, approachable manner.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits and receipts, and loss prevention.
• Keep store areas well-stocked and organized; protect store assets including cash.
• Ensure policies and safety guidelines are followed; supervise/train Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment.
