Job summary

Family Dollar in Llano, Texas is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will help with merchandising, opening/closing, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling while ensuring a safe, welcoming environment for customers and staff.

You will supervise and train store associates, maintain cleanliness, and ensure compliance with company policies. This role offers on-site work in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide excellent customer service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Organize, transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including pulls, holds/destroys, and other communications.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays for storefronts.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
