Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Lift up to 55 lbs and frequent walking, standing, kneeling, and climbing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Team environment work ability required.
• Customer service, organizational and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize merchandise transfer from delivery to stockroom to floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, cash deposits/receipts, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure staff follow procedures.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including bathrooms, floors, trash, and neatness.
• Other duties as assigned.
