Job summary

Family Dollar in Williamsport, PA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help oversee daily store operations, customer service, and team development. You will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth functioning, training, and guest satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include merchandising, opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling tasks, loss prevention, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Must lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays' effectiveness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling and cash deposits.
• Maintain store areas to company standards; protect and secure assets.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; supervise/train store associates.
• Ensure a clean, safe environment and restock bathrooms; keep areas neat.
