Job summary

The Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County's Information Technology Systems department seeks an IT Infrastructure Engineer focused on storage and VMware to design, implement, and maintain our storage and virtualization environments.

You will deploy SAN, NAS, and DAS solutions, manage ESXi hosts and vCenter, and optimize HA/FT, backups, and disaster recovery while ensuring performance and cost efficiency across Metro's IT landscape.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT or related field.
• VMware Certification (VCP) is a plus.
• Strong scripting skills for automation.

Responsibilities

• Design storage solutions aligned with business needs.
• Deploy and manage storage systems (SAN/NAS/DAS) and data tiering.
• Design, deploy, and manage VMware infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter) with HA/FT.
• Develop and test backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Provide technical support and on-call availability.
• Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization and automation.
