Job summary

GVEC is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain server, virtualization, and storage systems across two data centers. You will automate provisioning with PowerShell/Ansible, implement DR plans, and support Windows and Linux environments.

Ideal candidates have VMware expertise, scripting skills, and experience with storage and monitoring tools. This role requires on-call rotation and a strong focus on reliability.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of server virtualization platforms, preferably VMware.
• Experience with Active Directory and Directory sync configurations.
• Strong scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python, Ansible) to provision infrastructure at scale.
• Advanced knowledge of Windows Server installation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
• Knowledge of basic networking, including Layer 3 connectivity and port-level security.
• Experience with storage platforms, backup and disaster recovery tools (e.g., Pure Storage, Veeam).
• Ability to install and maintain server/storage hardware, including rack-and-stack.

Responsibilities

• Deliver best-in-class customer service to ensure rapid movement of solutions.
• Design, deploy, and maintain server, virtualization (VMware), and storage infrastructure across data centers.
• Build and maintain automation and scripting (PowerShell, Ansible, or similar).
• Design, implement, and document disaster recovery procedures and DR testing.
• Support and maintain production servers (Windows Server 2016/2019/2022) and Linux systems.
• Develop monitoring/alerting automation (CheckMK, Grafana, Prometheus).
• Assist with development of standards, policies, and procedures for reliability and security.
• Collaborate with Network and Applications teams on infrastructure projects.
• Configure and maintain block storage (RAID, iSCSI), LUN provisioning, and storage replication.
• Use ITSM tooling (Freshservice/Jira Service Management) to manage incidents, requests, and changes.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and off-hours maintenance.
• Provide cross-training and helpdesk level 2 support.
