Job summary

Super Micro Computer in San Jose, CA is seeking a Product Engineer to support our Engineering team. You will test and validate storage system level products, configure deployments, and troubleshoot performance and application solutions.

This role requires a BS/MS in engineering, at least 1 year of system or mechanical engineering experience, familiarity with Windows Server and Linux, and CAD/ProE design skills.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or Materials Engineering required.
• Minimum 1 year of system or mechanical engineering experience is desirable.
• Experience configuring computer systems and knowledge of Windows/Linux is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist development of mechanical products by studying customer requirements and applying engineering principles to design bezels, brackets, chassis, etc.
• Evaluate mechanical design of chassis and servers using mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and materials.
• Design testing methods to assure product quality for samples and finished products.
• Coordinate with product manager on release planning, development activities, regulatory compliance and lifecycle management.
• Solicit and collect new requirements for Supermicro chassis/server products.
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize chassis/server platform usage across the portfolio.
• Support cross-functional teams for RMA, Failure Analysis, and ECO implementations.
• Provide documentation and technical know-how to support chassis/server product lines.
