Supermicro is seeking a Product Engineer to support, test and validate storage system products from its San Jose, CA team. You will configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and validate storage performance and solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams on lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of system or mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience configuring computer systems.
• Familiar with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Solid mechanical background; CAD/ProE experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist development of mechanical products by studying customer requirements and applying engineering principles.
• Evaluate mechanical design of chassis and servers using mechanics, thermodynamics and heat transfer.
• Design and execute tests to ensure product quality and verify manufacturing, assembly, and installation processes.
• Support product manager with planning, design, regulatory compliance and lifecycle management.
• Gather new requirements for chassis/server products and coordinate cross-functional teams for support.
• Provide documentation and technical know-how to sustain chassis/server product lines.
