Job summary

Super Micro is seeking a Hardware Validation Engineer based in San Jose, CA. You will perform board-level design validations and debugging for server, storage, blade, and workstation products, collaborating with the R&D team to ensure product quality through functional tests and lab measurements.

The role requires strong EE fundamentals, experience with power circuits, schematic/PCB review, and proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and electronic loads; excellent problem solving

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong fundamentals in electronics and power electronics.
  • Experience with board-level power circuits is a plus.
  • Experience reviewing schematics and PCB layouts is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and loads.
  • Strong problem solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform motherboard power validation, debugging and analysis.
  • Bring-up and validate power circuitry on prototype hardware.
  • Log issues in bug tracking systems and collaborate with designers and vendors.
  • Analyze schematics and layouts for design improvements.
  • Support power design validation for CPU/Memory and other rails.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Maintain validation test reports, plans and instructions.
