Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Storage Engineer to support large-scale Cloud and Data Center Services for the U.S. DT program.

You will engineer, administer, and optimize NetApp ONTAP storage across hybrid data center environments, including SAN/NAS, data protection, and storage virtualization. The role covers operational support, lifecycle management, platform engineering, and cross-domain integration to ensure high availability, performance, and mission readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline required (master's preferred).
• 8+ years relevant experience supporting enterprise IT systems, cloud services engineering, or hybrid cloud environments.
• NetApp NCDA/NCIE and VMware VCP-DCV or equivalent storage-certified credentials.
• Expertise in NetApp ONTAP cluster operations, SAN/NAS administration, replication technologies, and performance troubleshooting.
• Strong background in VMware storage integration (VMFS, NFS, vVols, datastore capacity planning, multipath optimization).
• Proficiency in automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, REST API, Ansible).
• Familiarity with converged platforms, storage networking, and enterprise monitoring systems.
• Understanding of FedRAMP, NIST RMF, FISMA, and federal cybersecurity frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, configure, and support NetApp ONTAP storage systems.
• Administer SAN/NAS environments across DT data centers.
• Support VMware storage integrations and performance troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain IaC and automation for storage provisioning.
• Participate in engineering of Platform Services including Data Protection and Monitoring.
• Support 24x7 storage operations and ITIL-aligned processes.
• Monitor capacity, performance, replication health, and data protection.
• Assist with migrations, lifecycle refresh, and re-platforming initiatives.
