Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Storage Engineer for the Federal Civilian Division to support a large-scale Cloud and Data Center Services program for the U.S. Department of State.

You will engineer, administer, and optimize enterprise storage platforms (NetApp ONTAP) across hybrid data centers, with SAN/NAS architectures, data protection, and storage virtualization. Responsibilities include operations, lifecycle management, modernization, and cross-domain integration

Qualifications

• 8+ years relevant experience supporting enterprise IT systems, cloud services engineering, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Experience with enterprise storage engineering and platform support for NetApp ONTAP.
• Experience with VMware storage integrations (VMFS, NFS, vVols) and storage design.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, deploy, configure, and support NetApp ONTAP storage systems, including clusters, volumes, LIFs, and performance tuning.
• Administer SAN/NAS environments supporting mission-critical workloads across DT data centers.
• Monitor storage health, capacity, replication, and data protection across large NetApp ONTAP environments.
• Develop IaC and automation for storage provisioning using Ansible, PowerShell, and REST APIs.
• Collaborate across compute, virtualization, networking, cloud, data protection, and cybersecurity teams.
