Job summary

Benz Technology is seeking a Storage Architect to design and lead the deployment of enterprise storage and backup platforms for a federal environment, based in Fort Meade, MD. You will serve as the technical authority for storage strategy, ILM, and performance optimization with shared ownership alongside government stakeholders.

Responsibilities include architecting storage systems, driving ILM designs, delivering roadmaps, and conducting performance analyses to enable actionable improvements.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and deploying enterprise storage platforms.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Veeam, Veritas NetBackup).
• Strong understanding of storage protocols: FC, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS.
• Experience with ILM design and implementation.
• Ability to perform storage performance analysis and translate findings into architectural recommendations.
• Experience in a government or large enterprise customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support enterprise storage platforms.
• Lead development of ILM designs with requirements gathering.
• Share operational ownership of storage provisioning with the government’s Storage Manager.
• Deliver architectural designs, strategies, and roadmaps on an ongoing basis.
• Conduct end-to-end performance analysis of the storage infrastructure, present findings, and provide actionable improvement recommendations.
• Track emerging storage and backup technologies and advise federal staff on future technology direction.
