Leidos in the Bethesda area seeks a Cloud & Compute/Storage Architect to lead the design of a resilient, multi-cloud and on‑prem infrastructure for a large-scale federal program. You will own compute, storage, backup, and container services across AWS, Azure, GCP and on‑prem environments, balancing hybrid workloads with strong security and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive experience in large federal IT infrastructure or managed-services contracts.
• 3–5 years in a senior architect or technical lead role on enterprise IT environments.
• Hands-on architecture across multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) with IaaS provisioning and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Experience with VMware and enterprise compute environments.
• Experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker).
• Familiarity with cloud cost management across CSPs.
• U.S. Citizenship required and ability to obtain Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical architect for end-to-end Compute, Storage, and Backup Services across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Own the distributed server strategy including policies, architecture, and requirements for server operations.
• Architect storage and data management solutions spanning backup, object storage, and SAN/NAS.
• Own backup and recovery architecture in a hybrid environment with compliance requirements.
• Lead the Container-as-a-Service environment across Docker/OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Architect IaaS across AWS, Azure, and GCP landing zones for consistency and governance.
• Guide development teams deploying applications to cloud with DevSecOps practices and IaC.
• Oversee cloud governance, entitlements, and cost management across CSPs.
• Support transition planning and validation for migrations to managed services.
