Job summary

Leidos seeks a Senior Storage Engineer to design, implement, and optimize enterprise storage platforms in Fort Belvoir, VA. You will ensure storage availability, performance, scalability, and security across production and non-production systems, working with NetApp, Dell Unity, and other arrays.

The role requires Top Secret/SCI clearance and hands-on expertise in SAN/NAS, data protection, and lifecycle management, with leadership to mentor junior staff and drive efficiency across the storage

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–12 years of relevant experience or master’s with 6–10 years
• Current Top Secret/SCI clearance at time of consideration
• IAT Level II certification requirements (Security+CE, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
• Advanced knowledge of storage systems architecture, lifecycle engineering, and infrastructure modernization
• Experience with NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi, VMware vSAN and other storage technologies
• Strong knowledge of SANs, Fibre Channel, and storage technologies

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, administration, and support of enterprise storage environments with primary focus on NetApp and Dell Unity platforms.
• Design and maintain highly available, scalable storage solutions for file, block, and hybrid workloads.
• Perform provisioning, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and decommissioning of storage systems.
• Manage and optimize storage environments, including aggregates, volumes, SVMs, snapshots, replication, quotas, tiering, and protocol configuration.
• Administer NetApp, Dell EMC, Hitachi storage arrays, including pools, LUNs, file systems, NAS servers, snapshots, replication, FAST VP/tiering, and host connectivity.
• Support SAN and NAS infrastructure, including Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, and SMB/CIFS protocols.
• Ensure system compliance with DISA STIG and DoD security requirements by leading hardening efforts.
• Monitor storage health, capacity, utilization, and performance; identify trends and remediation strategies.
