Job summary

Assa Abloy Group in Salem, VA is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join the Operations team on-site. You will receive, inspect, and document shipments, verify contents against orders, and maintain accurate stock records in JD Edwards. This role supports inventory integrity and smooth material flow across departments.

The position is full-time, 1st shift, with benefits and comprehensive compensation. Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 pounds and operate a forklift as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with inventory control in stockroom/warehouse.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 50 pounds.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Proficiency in using JD Edwards or similar inventory software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and quality.
• Verify contents against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Record and update inventory levels in the JD Edwards system.
• Organize and store received items in designated stockroom locations.
• Maintain a clean and organized stockroom environment.
• Work with purchasing on discrepancies or issues with shipments.
• Assist with periodic inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Load and unload trucks.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of materials and supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.
