Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in NM/CA is seeking a Cleared R&D Mechanical Engineer to join the W80-1 Stockpile Systems Engineering team. You will contribute to a portfolio of work to maintain a safe and reliable deterrent for our nation, collaborating with scientists, engineers, and production partners.

Leading multidisciplinary teams, you will plan qualification activities, perform tests, and analyze data to support the life cycle of critical stockpile components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Active U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance or equivalent is required at time of application.
• Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary activities to plan and execute qualification, maintenance, assessment, and sustainment projects.
• Collaborate with external partners and internal teams on design reviews and data analysis.
• Plan and execute testing for environmental, functional, and safety evaluation.
• Represent Sandia on internal and external project teams and communicate results clearly.
