• Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence.
• Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Communicate clearly with customers and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and helping them find what they need throughout the store.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and passing along feedback to the team.
• Unload trucks, stock shelves, rotate product to ensure freshness.
• Monitor for mis-picked items, product outs, and wrong deliveries, and report issues accordingly.
• Organize stock for greatest efficiency and restock any damaged items.
• Tag shelves with overstock in the back room and understock drawers.
• Report new or different items to the scanning coordinator for system input.
• Operate the register for customer purchases as needed.
• Stock supplies including cigarettes, front-end sacks, and department supplies.
• Assist with outside maintenance including shoveling snow and returning carts.
• Help with cleaning throughout the store and train new stockers as needed.
• Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all policies.
