Job summary

DEPT OF HEALTH/MENTAL HYGIENE in New York City is seeking a dependable Stock Worker to support inventory operations across multiple facilities. The role reports to the Procurement and Inventory Supervisor and involves receiving, storing, counting, and distributing materials, with travel between locations required.

Preferred candidates will have a valid New York State driver’s license and experience in stockrooms or inventory systems.

• Preferred: valid New York State driver's license and inventory/stockroom experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, count, inspect, store and distribute materials and tools.
• Check deliveries against orders and report shortages or damage.
• Pick and prepare materials for distribution to staff and facilities.
• Load/unload supplies at storage and delivery locations.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with counts.
• Keep stockrooms clean, organized and safe.
• Label and organize inventory for easy locating.
• Coordinate with supervisor on inventory needs and discrepancies.
• Ensure proper SDS records and chemical storage as required.
