Oldham County Schools seeks an Assistant Coach to support the head coach and athletic director across middle and high school sports. The role is a paraprofessional, with a stipend, and reports to the Head Coach, Principal, and Athletic Director.

It is an as-needed, one-year position with annual review and stipend aligned to the district's Extra-Curricular Sponsor Stipend Schedule. Responsibilities include assisting in planning and organizing practices, teaching basic skills, promoting sports

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 64 semester hours of college credit or KHSAA professional development training.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Criminal records check completed as per Kentucky law.
• First aid and CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of sporting rules, regulations and guidelines.

Aufgaben

• Assist the head coach and/or other assistant coaches on one or more sports.
• Understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Read, interpret, apply and explain rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Lift heavy objects.
• Assist in promoting sports in the school and community.
• Assist the head coach in planning the athletic program.
• Assist the head coach in organizing and supervising practices.
• Assist in teaching individual fundamental skills, team plan, team strategy and rules and regulations of the game.
• Assist in teaching good sportsmanship and self-control.
• Assist in checking eligibility of participants, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
• Assist students by providing a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude and general guidance.
• Conduct learning experiences, under the direction of the coaches, with small groups of student athletes.
• Assist in the recommendation of equipment purchases for health, safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Demonstrates loyalty and dedication to Oldham County Schools.
• Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
