Oldham County Schools seeks an Assistant Girls Basketball Coach for the 26-27 season at Oldham County High School. The stipend-based role reports to the Head Coach, Principal, and Athletic Director, and supports multiple sports programs as needed.

The candidate will assist with planning practices, teaching fundamentals, and promoting good sportsmanship. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 64 college hours or KHSAA training, CPR/First Aid, and background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 64 semester hours or completion of KHSAA training.
• 21 years of age.
• Criminal records check per Kentucky law.
• First aid and CPR certification required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of sports rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach and other coaches across one or more sports.
• Follow oral and written directions and school policies.
• Read and apply game rules, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Lift and move equipment as needed.
• Promote school sports programs in the community.
• Assist in planning athletic programs and practices.
• Organize and supervise practice sessions.
• Teach fundamental skills, team concepts, and game strategy.
• Model sportsmanship and self-control for student athletes.
• Check eligibility, insurance, and parental consent as required.
• Provide guidance and positive role modeling for students.
• Assist in procurement of equipment and uniforms as appropriate.
